Repairs include:

Electronics
IT
Mechanical items
Toys
Sewing, clothing and fabrics

In fact, if it’s broken, bring it along and our team of ready repairers will give it a go!

Everything is free but donations are very welcome to help keep repair cafe (and homemade cake!) going.

We are looking at collaborating with other local groups around Reading to take Repair Cafe to different venues. If you or someone you know would be interested in this then let us know by email at  repaircafe@transitionreading.org.uk

Reading Green Fest: volunteers needed

Reading Green Fest is a part of this year’s Reading Water Fest. It aims to celebrate the green and environmental groups in Reading and get people engaged in environmental issues! The event will be on Saturday 11 June, 11am to 5pm in the town centre. There is planned to be a day of workshops and stalls from local green and environmental community groups and charities.

The website is in progress: www.readinggreenfest.co.uk

We are looking for volunteers to fill a variety of roles on the day, including supporting stallholders, welcome/information point and film/sound operator. More details can be found here http://rva.org.uk/volop/all-sorts-of-help-needed-to-make-readings-first-green-fest-a-big-success/ . If you’d like to be involved in any way please contact Alex at treasurer@transitionreading.org.uk

Reading Town Meal Crowdfunding Campaign

Reading’s Town Meal is unique and run entirely by volunteers and community groups, including Transition Town Reading. Tasty meal-maker rewards are now on offer to donors who help make it happen in 2016.

Over 1,000 people are served up a mouth-watering meal made from fresh fruit & veg donated by home-growers, cooked and served up by Reading College catering students in Forbury Gardens. Workshops, fun activities for all the family, local musicians’ showcase, community groups’ stalls like our own and local food producers complete the day. Be a part of this fantastic community celebration of home-grown and local food in our town.

Even with all our community inputs, we still need to raise additional funds to pay for equipment to stage the event and that’s where you can join in to help! Visit www.crowdfunder.co.uk/reading-town-meal to give any donation, big or small, and choose your tasty ‘meal maker’ reward.
